Hi! I'm Andrea, founder and lead designer of Moonswell Designs located on Whidbey Island. I love spending time with my main squeeze, laughing with my two boys, and running with my pup. When I'm not driving my kids around you can find me in the mountains hiking, skiing, biking, or dipping into a cool mountain lake. Here on Whidbey I enjoy playing marimba, trail running, gardening, and beach bonfires with a warm drink and good company. My passion for the outdoors is a big part of me, and I enjoy bringing the warmth and harmony of nature into my home.

After graduating from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP) program I worked at various Architecture firms in the southern and midwestern regions of the United States. I split my early career between large firms focusing on designing hospitals, universities, and corporate headquarters, and a smaller firm focusing on redeveloping lost industrial urban areas for modern living. Upon moving to the west coast I worked as a visual merchandiser for a large outdoor store, and enjoyed renovating our century old home in south Seattle. 

As I took time off to raise two incredible little humans, I reconsidered what path my design career traversed. I discovered that what matters most to me is enhancing the dweller’s experience. Whether that occurs in a commercial setting or within your own home. I believe that our surroundings have a profound ability to alter our mood and significantly affect our interactions with others.

My aim is to thoughtfully create spaces that not only help you feel your best but also encourage you to truly be your best self in every aspect of your life.
